A Closer Look
I currently serve as the Executive Managing Director for Northern California and Mountain Region for Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services with offices in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Fresno, Reno, Salt Lake City, and Denver. Within this region there are 22 licensed appraisers, 8 trainees and 6 other office staff. In addition to running one of the regions in the company, I have been asked to assist other offices with Employee Specializations: What property type appraisers should specialize in, Hiring Process: Matching personality styles with teams, and Efficiency: I developed the Cycle Time Reduction (CTR) Process which is implemented in the offices I oversee. I began my career as a general appraiser. Over the years, I have found my niche in Self Storage. My role over the last several years has shifted from only valuing this property type to counseling and assisting self-storage owners in what to do with their properties moving forward. As National Self-storage Director at CIVAS, I also manage a team of 20 appraisers nationwide who specialize in that property type. I’ve also developed a relationship with the Corporation of the Presiding Bishop (LDS Church) over the last 8 years. I have counseled them in acquisitions and disposition of properties throughout the United States and Canada. I’ve also recently counseled them in setting up an International platform for their real estate department based on the process currently used in the US and Canada.
