For over twenty-five years Edwin Ryu’s primary focus as an investment advisor has been helping multifamily office (MFO), wealth management, and institutional clients in attaining their long-term, often multi-generational, financial goals. In many instances he assists them with their real estate portfolios. He has a passion for problem solving and crafting holistic solutions to complex issues. Within a wealth management framework, he often develops strategies to diversify around real estate as a key asset class. Devising the appropriate investment strategy during a challenging market environment or collaborating with a skilled estate planning attorney to tax efficiently transfer family real property assets to children and favored charities, are typical assignments. He draws upon his background as a CPA/PFS and investment advisor as well as many years of experience managing his own family’s real estate, public & private securities investments, financial & estate planning, and charitable giving endeavors. Ed often works in a team setting that includes CPA's, attorneys, and other specialists (such as real estate brokers) to assist multi-family office and high net worth clients with the design and implementation of long-term strategic investment plans, asset allocation modelling, risk management & asset protection programs, and cash flow & liquidity analyses. He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards, which has allowed him to use his multi-faceted background to help those organizations reach their objectives. He consults those entities by serving on their investment, facilities planning, real estate or strategic planning committees.
