John Oler is a real estate executive with 38 years experience in the commercial real estate industry. As a commercial leasing and investment sales broker, financial advisor, developer and investment banker, he advises commercial tenants, private and institutional investors, property developers and families in devising strategic real estate plans and represents them when procuring, leasing, financing debt and JV equity, selling or acquiring commercial/residential property and land. He has marketed, developed and repositioned office, land and industrial property; served as asset manager for a 25 million SF $3.0 billion institutional real estate portfolio, completed over 80 commercial leasing transactions and performed over 1,000 Property Evaluations (property and market inspection ‘due diligence’ studies) for acquisitions and re-financings placed by JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Kuwait Investment Authority, Artesia Mortgage Capital (Dexia Bank), Criimi Mae and GE Capital. He has served for 9 years as Manager of a Latin American family-owned 50-property (minority interests) portfolio of real estate located nationwide. He has provided expert testimony in New York City & Stamford, CT Civil and Landlord/Tenant Courts. He enjoys longstanding relationships with NY City based commercial brokerage firms, institutional sources of real estate debt and equity and C-suite executives in the many allied fields of real estate including legal, appraisal, market analysis, tax and wealth planning, environmental and engineering, land surveying, construction/project management and architecture/design. He has taught three real estate finance courses for eight years as an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate in their Master of Science (Finance) Degree program.
