A Closer Look
My main focus since semi-retiring in 2017 has been as the Co-Chair of the Governing Board of Heartland Capital Strategies, a nonprofit that promotes responsible investment. We started a Fellowship with Georgetown University as our partner in 2016 called the Labor Capital Strategies Fellowship and we have placed over 50 interns/Fellows with asset managers, pension fund offices, investment consultants, think tanks, and Federal and State Government offices. Also as part of Heartland I am designing a screen for pension fund trustees to use to identify investment products that pay attention to the "S" in "ESG" while generating a market rate of return.
