A Closer Look
Started my career at The Bank of Canada (Canada’s central bank) where I stayed nearly seven years (1991 to 1998) and worked at the Research Department and the International Department. I then joined the Conference Board of Canada, Canada’s largest economic think-tank where I first worked as an economist in the International Department (1998 to 2000). In that role, I had the opportunity to travel about a dozen times in each Tunisia, Morocco and Ukraine to work with each country’s Ministry of Finance. I then ran the Conference Board’s Centre for Municipal Studies (2001 to 2013), where I gained a vast expertise about the economics of cities. Spent two years as President & CEO of the Quebec Urban Development Institute, a lobby group for Quebec’s Commercial Real Estate Industry, before joining Ivanhoe Cambridge as Head of Research in January 2016. I have given numerous speeches in both English and French over the course of my career and have co-authored a book published in 2014 called Power Play: The Business Economics of Pro Sports.
