An unwavering commitment to his clients and his community has been the trademark of Mr. Downey’s 30+ year career in commercial real estate. He represents prominent Arizona-based companies as well as national corporations regarding their site selection, relocations, renewals and expansions. He serves as single point of contact for their multi-market office locations, working collaboratively with Cushman & Wakefield colleagues to close more than 4.575 MSF of multi-market lease transactions around the country. Downey earned the prestigious title of Vice Chairman in 2012 and is the first and only in the Phoenix office. During his long-standing tenure in commercial real estate, Downey has been involved in more than 4,500 lease and sale transactions totaling more than 136 million square feet, in excess of $13 billion in total consideration. Downey was appointed the Global Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield’s Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) in 2013 and served a four year term. TAG comprises more than 700 Cushman & Wakefield Tenant Advisory brokers around the globe. He continues to serve on the TAG Executive Committee as Tenant Advisory Chairman Emeritus. He also chairs the national Pursuits Committee and he is also a long-time Mentor for the Mentee Program for Emerging Tenant Advisory Brokers at Cushman & Wakefield. Downey was honored as Mentor of the Year in 2018 at the annual TAG conference. Downey is a member of CoreNet Global/CoreNet Global Arizona, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Valley Partnership and several Arizona-based economic and development organizations.
