Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens,
traveling by air between the United States and Canada will be required
to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard
Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551,
if applicable. For more information including what can

Consulate contact information and returning to the U.S. please visit
the U.S.
Department of State website.
Transportation to/from
airport
For your convenience, use the Pierre Trudeau Montreal airport
for your travel needs.
There are four options for transportation between
the airport and the Fairmont (30 minute distance by vehicle):
- There is a shuttle bus that departs the airport every 25 minutes
and drops passengers off at all major hotels in Montreal. You
may board the shuttle outside at arrivals. The cost is $13 CDN
(approximately $11 US). (The driver will only accept Canadian
money, there is an exchange located in the airport).
- Taxi’s are very prevalent in Montreal and may be found
outside at arrivals. The cost is roughly $40 CDN (approximately
$34 US). (Recommended to pay with Canadian money, there is an
exchange located in the airport, as not all drivers have credit
card machines).
- Rent a car. There are numerous rent-a-car companies out of the
airport. I recommend looking on expedia.com or travocity.com to
shop for the best deal. There is available parking at the Fairmont
for $24 CDN (approximately $20 US) a day. The concierge will be
able to provide you with directions, please contact them at (514)
861-3511.
- There is also the option of requesting limo service through
the concierge and attaching the charge to your room. The cost
is roughly $60 CDN (approximately $51 US) depending on the number
of guests. Please contact the concierge (514) 861-3511 for more
information.
- Traveling via train from the airport is not convenient therefore
not recommended.
