Spouse
and Guest Tour
History & Exploration of Montréal’s Fur Industry
Canada's early fur trade played a key role in the economic development
of Montréal. This tour begins with a stop at the Lachine
National Historic Site on the shores of beautiful Saint-Louis
Lake, the departure point for the voyageurs and explorers of
colonial Canada. A visit to a select furrier follows, which
will include an explanation of the various stages of fur production
and the different qualities and varieties of fur. A showroom
fashion show follows. Afterwards, guests may, at their leisure,
try on garments (and make purchases, if desired…with no
obligation). Lunch will follow at Montreal’s trendy Européa,
home of chef Jérôme Ferrer, recently named the
2007 Montreal Chef of the Year. |
