"Welcome to San Francisco" City Tour +

Get an overview of the city from those in the know: your local CRE guides. The tour will visit Golden Gate Park and the various neighborhoods including North Beach, Chinatown, Marina, Presidio, Nob Hill, Union Square, the Financial District and Pacific Heights. Your local guides will also share their local real estate knowledge of residential and office sales and lease comparisons.

Magical Marin: Majestic Muir Woods & Sausalito

Cross the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge into fabled Marin County, with its astonishingly varied land and seascapes. One of the first national parks ever set aside for the coastal redwoods, Muir Woods was named for the renowned conservationist, John Muir. Wander among trees that are thousands of years old and experience the grandeur of the ancient forest. Following, visit the winding wooded streets, eclectic houseboats, unique boutiques and art galleries of Sausalito. Lunch will follow at one of the town’s most scenic waterfront restaurants with spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline and the Bay. Enjoy a Ferry Ride across the bay on your return to the hotel.

Cocktail Reception +
Join fellow Counselors and friends for a reception at the venerable St. Francis Yacht Club, offering incredible vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay.
Afterwards, you are encouraged to explore the city and its many fabulous restaurants. Please visit the registration office for a list of pre-arranged dinner options, some being structured Business Issues Forum topics.

Spouse and Guest Tour + 

 Splendid Survivors: A Tour of the Shannon-Kavanaugh house

San Francisco is a living museum of Victorian architecture, with hundreds of picturesque houses built in the 1870’s to 1890’s when the city was known as the “Paris of the West.” These ornate redwood houses, embellished with turrets, bay windows and elaborate trimmings, have survived earthquakes, and fires, as well as changes in personal tastes. The Shannon-Kavanaugh house was built in 1892 and contains 4,500 square feet on four floors, set against the magnificent backdrop of the San Francisco skyline. Now carefully and lovingly restored to nineteenth-century opulence, the Shannon-Kavanaugh house is the anchor of “Postcard Row,” the row of Victorian homes that is perhaps the most photographed vista in the city. Lunch will follow at one of San Francisco’s favorite restaurants.

Chairman's Dinner +
Join us at The Carnelian Room for a joint celebration honoring 2007 CRE Chairman Tony Souza and his wife Gloria for their service and dedication to The Counselors of Real Estate, and 2008 Chairman-Elect Rich Hanson and his wife Maureen as they begin their year of leadership. Dancing will follow. (Black-tie optional)
