Business Issues Forums
Capital Markets
This Business Issues Forum discusses hot topics in the capital markets
field.
A capital market is a market for securities, where companies and
governments can raise long-term funds. Capital markets include the
stock market and the bond market. Financial regulators, such as
the UK's Financial Services Authority (FSA) or the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission (SEC), oversee the capital markets in their
designated jurisdictions to ensure that investors are protected
against fraud, among other responsibilities.
This Forum covers the most current, most topical dialogue on capital
markets, conducted in group discussions with fellow Counselors.
This topic is regularly scheduled at each of The Counselors conferences.
The sessions demonstrate how Counselors can assist in this process.
Past topics have included:
- the availability of capital in today’s market: who is lending,
what are the terms, where is the market going…
-
practical applications in today’s new real estate frontier,
building institutional relationships and the value of the operator
-
institutional investment markets
-
finding funding – how a major company obtained capital for
a large-scale mixed-use development
-
learn more about what fellow CREs are encountering in their practices
and share practical solutions and strategies
2012 Chair of the Capital Markets Forum is:
Julie McIntosh, CRE
The next Capital Markets Business Issues Forum will be held at
